The more experience you have, the harder it is to see your own value


After 15 years, I was done. I’d partnered with brands like Harley-Davidson, Club Monaco, and Virgin Mobile and built campaigns that drove measurable growth and shifted market perception. It was varied, interesting problem-solving, and I was proud of it. Then I walked away from all of it.

That’s when I got stuck. I couldn’t see how to restart. I had expertise, but no systematic way to recognize my actual value for a changing market. I had skills, but no clarity about how they translated beyond the industry I was leaving behind.

So I did what I’d always done for brands: I found the hidden story. I applied the same brand strategy approach I’d used for national campaigns, but turned it inward on my own transition. The approach worked, revealing patterns I couldn’t see from my LinkedIn profile.

That personal breakthrough became OwnerArtist. Built for experienced professionals who have more accumulated value than they can currently see, and are ready to do something with it.
